parts

So as you know, my fixie isn't the greatest, but I'm still working on it. Within a couple of months I'm planning on getting an AEROSPOKE front, a DEEP V rear, maybe some riser bars, SUGINO crank and chainring, and some new pedals/clips. Just an idea, but we'll see how that goes. Parts are so damn expensive, but hey, I'll bet you a million dollars that my fixie gets better gas mileage than your AUTOMOBILE. haha.

20 YEAR OLD RUBBER AND 120 POUNDS OF PRESSURE DON'T MIX

I thought I posted more about my fixie but I guess I didnt get around to that. In my previous post, I talked about how I bought a red Bianchi frame off of craigslist. The bike didn't have a chain or a seat cover and the wheels were pretty much fucked. So a couple days later, I went over to the bike shop to pick up the parts I needed to make it a fixed gear. I bought some straight bars, an Alex R450 wheel with a flip flop hub, some black handlebar grips, and a chain. It cost about 300 to build the whole bike. I was kinda low on cash at the time, so I decided to just stick with the piece of shit front wheel and tire which turned out to be a bad idea. Just last week, which was about i don't know, 3 weeks of riding, I was just walking my bike in front of my house at like 1am. It was quiet as hell and out of nowhere, POP! my front tube explodes through the middle of the fuckin tire. Scared the shit out of me. It sounded like a fire cracker and my ears were ringing for a little while. I thought all the neighbors were gonna come out so I just ran into my house with my bike haha. I looked at my tire and there's about a half inch hole going straight through the tire. So here's my piece of advice: DON'T RIDE A 20 YEAR OLD TIRE. lmao. Luckily I wasn't going fast or anything. Been Lazy

I guess I've just been lazy and haven't posted in a while. I'm planning on posting at least twice a week from now on, so keep checking back! Lately I've been focusing on my school work since its my senior year and I wont get to graduate if I fail any classes. My favorite class so far is Statistics. My teacher is really cool and I've been learning a lot about probability, stocks, and different companies in there. Invest in McCormick everyone! Haha.

Journey To The Center Of The Earth

I was going to pick up a new wheelset for my fixie, but I was knocked out til like 4 and all the bike shops were closed. haha. Guess I gotta wait til tomorrow. But, I did go and see Journey To The Center Of The Earth in 3D! It wasn't that bad of a movie. The 3D effects were really good and you even get to keep the glasses! How awesome is that. work

I forgot, later this night, around 7, my neighbor came over and asked me to help her with yard work. I've helped her before and the work I do is pretty fucking hard. It pays 7 an hour and today I busted my ass for an hour shoveling like 300 lbs of bark into trashcans and pulling them up the freakin driveway. I'm sore as fuck now and I got hella dust and shit all over me from the bark. haha. great day.

Well, I've been looking into fixed gear bikes for a while and just yesterday I decided that it was time I went ahead and bought one. I searched craigslist for a while and came across an old Bianchi. No picture or nothing. Just said it was a 53cm Bianchi for 150. This surprised me since everyone else is selling these for like 300-500. I was skeptical but decided to contact this guy. Met up at the local park and everything was legit. I even got a deal for 100. It was a complete bike, just had a missing chain. The tires were fucked and the brakes were out of whack. But for 100, its still a great deal. Took the bike home and beat the shit out of it stripping all the parts I don't need, brakes, wheels. Planning on heading over to the bike shop tomorrow to pick up a cheap wheelset. We'll see how that goes.
